Waste treatment
DEKONTA also offers the following approved physical, chemical and biological waste treatment technologies for (a) suppression of waste hazardous properties before landfilling, (b) improvement of waste manipulation possibilities and (c) preparation of waste for its further utilisation:
- Biodegradation biological decomposition or immobilisation of organic substances present in waste
- Stabilization of organic as well as inorganic contaminants present in waste by the addition of suitable binding agents
- SVE ex situ - removal of volatile organic substances (including chlorinated solvents) from waste by drawing off polluted air.
- Washing ex situ - - contaminants removal from waste by application of suitable extraction agent(s)
- crushing and grading - of waste to requested size on mobile crushing and grading lines
- draining - of excessive water content from treated waste in sedimentation tanks and filter presses
DEKODEKONTA is equipped with a laboratory and pilot plant equipment to perform the following tests:
- thermal desorption - heating of waste in reductive environment to temperature at which toxic substances are volatilised
- chemical oxidation - decomposition of organic contaminants present in waste by strong oxidation agents (hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate))
Data obtained during tests are used as base for the design of full-scale equipment.
All technologies utilised for waste treatment are approved by competent state administration authorities.
