Project description

The INOVO!!! project aims not only to continue but also to deepen long-term cooperation between VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, the University of Ostrava, and the application sector. This cooperation is focused on mutual transfer of information, knowledge, and know-how to support joint research in current environmental topics. The research directions were initiated by industrial partners.

An integral part of the research will also address socio-economic and geographical aspects of the implementation of achieved results and innovations in the context of sustainable transition. The joint research will focus on two key areas.

The first area concerns technologies for reducing air pollution by particulate and gaseous pollutants, such as particulate matter, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, ammonia, and nitrogen oxides, originating from the energy sector and other industrial processes.

The second area focuses on the development of technologies for the treatment and purification of wastewater from the energy sector, with an emphasis on reducing the content of newly identified pollutants such as microplastics, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in the aquatic environment.
