Project number: TM05000018
Project duration: 01/2024–12/2025
Funding provider: Technology Agency of the Czech Republic
Project partners: Technical University of Liberec; National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan
Project description
The project focuses on research into materials for the remediation of contaminated bedrock environments using the in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) method. The objective is to develop materials capable of the gradual release and activation of an oxidizing agent and to verify their applicability in practice.
These materials will be based on potassium peroxydisulfate supplemented with suitable activators derived from solid waste materials (e.g., cast iron shavings) and thickening agents. Mixtures of these materials will be tested under laboratory conditions, and the most suitable formulation will subsequently be pilot-tested at a real contaminated site.
The site will be characterized in detail, and the impact of the application of the developed reagent on site conditions will be monitored over time. The project outputs will include two utility models of materials (for two different types of contamination) and a validated technology for their application.
