Measurement of radon in soil gas as an indicator of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination
Project number: SS07010398
Project duration: 05/2024–06/2026
Lead organization: DEKONTA, a.s., in cooperation with the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague
Project partner: Czech University of Life Sciences Prague
Project description
The aim of the project is the development and validation of a methodology for rapid semi-quantitative investigation of sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons using radon (Rn) as a natural tracer. This method is intended to serve as a complementary tool to more robust techniques, enabling efficient and cost-effective mapping of contamination plumes.
This project is co-funded with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic under the Environment for Life Programme.
