We invite you to a webinar organized in collaboration with Regenesis

A Race Against Time: Emergency Response to a Benzene Leak Using PetroFix®

We invite you to a webinar organized in collaboration with Regenesis, which became our partner in addressing the extensive contamination following the benzene train derailment in Hustopeče nad Bečvou.

This unprecedented accident occurred on February 28, 2025, when a train carrying benzene derailed and 15 cars caught fire. Some of the benzene burned off, some leaked into the rock formation and subsequently into the groundwater, and the remainder was trapped in the wreckage of the rail tank cars.
The Dekonta environmental emergency response service, together with experts from our company, responded to the accident from the very first days, and we subsequently took over the management of contamination at the accident site. You can read more about the accident here.

We have established close cooperation with Regenesis to prevent the spread of contamination, and we are now preparing a unique webinar for you during which we will present the results of our collaboration.

In the webinar, you will learn:

  • what benefits the application of Regenesis’s PetroFix® technology has brought
  • we will discuss the assessment and decision-making process at the accident site
  • we will examine the measures implemented
  • we will present key results and performance data

This project highlights the importance of close cooperation between emergency response teams, remediation contractors, and technology providers. The coordinated efforts of Dekonta and REGENESIS enabled rapid pilot testing, design validation, and full-scale implementation within a very short timeframe.

The webinar will be led by:

  • Ondrej Lhotský, Ph.D. - Lead Technical Specialist, Dekonta
  • Jack Shore - Regional Manager for Europe, REGENESIS

The webinar, conducted in English, will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026 | 11:00 BST / 12:00 CEST
